4XEM Power Over Ethernet (POE) Splitter Overview:
Power Over Ethernet (POE) integrates data and power over standard Ethernet cabling. It is a way to supply reliable, uninterrupted power to network cameras in hard to access places using Category 5 cable. Power Over Ethernet technology saves the time and cost of installing separate power cabling and AC outlets for each network camera.
The IPCAMPOESPLIT, POE Splitter connects to the DC Jack and RJ-45 port of the Network Camera. A Cat-5 cable runs from the POE Splitter to a POE Switch to a maximum of 100 meters. One IPCAMPOESPLIT is required per Network Camera.
The IPCAMPOESPLIT will supply a 12V maximum 1A precision regulated output. 4XEM Power Over Ethernet adapters have built-in ESD/lightning protection to help in preventing equipment damage due to transients and also have proprietary sensing algorithms which detect an overload or short circuit condition and shut down the supply to prevent equipment damage.
The IPCAMPOESPLIT is rated for operation at -10 to +60 deg C and up to 90% humidity, and will perform reliably in outdoor weatherproof enclosures.
Using Power Over Ethernet will allow you to locate your power supply at a central location where it can be attached to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS). The IPCAMPOESPLIT will connect your Network Cameras to a Power Over Ethernet Switch like the EPOEMS12, 4XEM's 12 port Power Over Ethernet MidSpan Switch.
Not supported by IPCAMW30 or IPCAMWL30. Limited functionality with IPCAMWPTZ and IPCAMWLPTZ
