4XEM Wins Competitive Bid for Brantford Police Surveillance Solution
Date: July 27th, 2006
Brantford, Ontario July 25, 2006 -- 4XEM Corporation recently completed the upgrade and expansion of the Brantford Police Service Digital Video System. According to Brantford Police Services, 4XEM was chosen after a highly competitive RFP bid process. The 4XEM solution was selected over proposed CCTV DVR solutions as 4XEM offered the latest digital video technology in an easily expandable system. The 4XEM system provides 24 hour surveillance for all parts of the police department including interview and booking rooms, sally ports, holding cells, entrances and parking lots. The high quality recorded video meets the requirements of the Canadian Federal and Provincial Crown Attorney and Courts of Law for admissible camera evidence.
IBS Systems, a full-service security installer, facilitated the speedy installation of 32 network cameras with the full implementation of the IP security system accomplished in just a few short weeks. IBS is supplying 24 hour 7 day a week service and support for the surveillance system.
"Brantford Police Services' choice of a true Digital Video Network Camera solution by 4XEM reflects the direction of the security and surveillance market from CCTV and DVR solutions to IP Network Cameras for video surveillance," said John Fortier, President of 4XEM. "IP (Internet Protocol) Network Video Systems will soon replace CCTV as the standard for Security, Surveillance and Remote Monitoring. The advantages of remote monitoring, hard disk recording and the ability to connect existing analog CCTV cameras to the network via Video Servers, make IP Network Video Systems much more cost effective and useful than CCTV and DVR Systems."
"There was an extremely aggressive installation schedule replacing the existing CCTV system while minimizing the intrusion to the precinct," Fortier said. "4XEM cameras are providing exceptional imaging quality with terrific features that make them an immediate stand-out. Cameras will be easily added in their future expansion with no need of an additional DVR. 4XEM also supplied pan, tilt and zoom cameras in outdoor heated enclosures for surveillance outside the precinct and in parking lot areas to increase employee safety. The Brantford Police are now able to record high quality audio and video interviews directly to DVD."
IP Network Cameras connect directly to IP networks and allow users to view, store and analyze full motion video from anywhere via a standard web browser. J.P. Freeman Company estimates that network camera sales will exceed those of analog cameras by 2007 and that network camera sales will more than double those of analog camera sales in the network video market by 2008.
