Booming Market for IP Network Security and Surveillance Products an Attractive New Revenue Source for Service Providers
Service Providers are beginning to capitalize on a growth segment in the technology industry - IP Network Cameras and associated Security and Surveillance products.

Buffalo, New York May 3, 2005 -- The IP Network Security and Surveillance market presents two new revenue streams for Service Providers….direct hardware sales of IP cameras and accessories, and service sales for installation and support.

IP Network Cameras connect directly to IP networks and allow users to view, store and analyze full motion video from anywhere on the network via a standard web browser. Security research company J.P. Freeman & Company estimates that network camera sales will be $1.3 Billion by 2007, whereas they accounted for less than 100 million in global revenue in 2002. He further predicts that the IP camera product category is "about to take off in a major way".

IP Network Video Systems will soon replace CCTV as the standard for Security, Surveillance and Remote Monitoring. The advantages of remote monitoring, hard disk recording and the ability to connect existing analog CCTV cameras to the network via Video Servers, make IP Network Video Systems much more cost effective and useful than CCTV Video Systems.

"Service Providers may think Security and Surveillance is a poor fit for their business, but when they view it as essentially a computer application, they may change their mind" explains John Fortier, President of 4XEM Corporation. "In fact, many large companies are rolling physical security into IT departments because that is where the expertise lies to manage these new, computer based Security and Surveillance systems".

Large corporations are not the only market for IP Network Video Systems. The simplicity and low cost of IP cameras has opened up many other applications in business and the home. Low cost video conferencing, controlling remote access, unattended office reception, Web broadcasting, and monitoring remote properties such as vacation homes, are all applications possible with IP Network Video Systems.
