Why do I get an error message stating that the camera or video server will need to run in HTTP mode?

"Because the connection problem of network environment, transmission protocol changes to HTTP"

This is not an error message but a prompt to notify you on the protocol that the camera or video server will be using for communication. The message you are receiving is due directly to bandwidth availability. When you connect to the camera or video server, the camera/video server will attempt to use UDP as the communication protocol. If there is not enough bandwidth to support the UDP protocol then the camera or video server attempts to use the TCP communications protocol. Again, if there is not enough bandwidth to support communication in TCP then HTTP will be used as the communication protocol. If HTTP is used as the communication protocol you will be limited to video only. Audio produced by the camera or video server will not be allowed. To reduce the amount of bandwidth that the camera or video server requires please adjust the Video settings for the camera or video server. You will need to browse to the homepage for your camera or video server, click on the “Configuration” link and then proceed to click on the “Video” link. On this page you will be able to lower the Frame Rate, Image Size, Quality and Bit Rate. This may help to reduce the amount of bandwidth required by the camera or video server. Also, there is an option to “Increase Audio Quality in Low Bandwidth Environments”. This option can be found on the “Video”, “Network” or “Audio” configuration pages depending on the model of camera or video server that you are using. Please refer to the included user manual that came on the CD-Rom with your camera or video server for more information regarding configuration settings.

To change the communications protocol that the camera or video server will use you will need to browse to the camera’s or video server’s homepage and click on the “Client Settings” link. On this page you will be able to manually choose the communication protocol. If there is not enough bandwidth to support the chosen protocol the camera or video server will automatically chose the most reasonable protocol for operation.

Please remember that with all settings that are changed on the camera or video server you will need to click the “Save” button that can be found at the bottom of every configuration page.
