4XEM’s IP Network Cameras and 4XEM’s IP Network Video Servers are designed for easy viewing of live video via a local network (LAN) or via a remote location by using the internet. If you wish to browse to the camera within a local network all you will need to do is type in the IP address of the camera/video server in an Internet Explorer Web Browser (Ver. 5.0 and above). If you wish to view the camera from a remote location using the internet then some additional configuration may be required. You may need to configure Port Forwarding at your router to enable the camera/video server to be browsed to from outside the local network. An alternative to Port Forwarding would be to configure the 4XEM IP Network Camera or 4XEM’s IP Network Video Server to use a Public IP address. With the camera/video server configured in this manner, you can browse to the camera by typing in the Public IP address of the camera/video server in an Internet Explorer Web Browser (Ver. 5.0 and above).
Note: 4XEM’s IP Network Cameras and 4XEM’s IP Network Video Servers featuring MJPEG as the video compression engine also support Netscape Navigator 4.0 and above.
