If recorded video files are manually deleted and/or moved from the recording directory for any configured camera, the database file used for the playback software is unaware of the change. Due to this, if the camera whose files were moved or deleted is accessed from the playback software, an error message will be desplayed with the message "Get data from database failed".
This error can’t be shut down and the Smart VS-IP Surveillance Playback software must be shut down by ending its task in task manager (CTRL + ALT + DEL).
To repair the database, you need to run the DBRepair tool located in the software install folder. The location of this folder by default is “C:\Program Files\Smart VS-IP Surveillance System”.
Before running the DBRepair tool, please make sure that all Smart VS-IP Surveillance software is shut down. You will need to shut down the software from the system tray as well. This can be done by right clicking on the 16-CH Smart VS-IP Recorder icon located in the system tray and choosing exit. Once the software is completely shut down, it is safe to run the DBRepair tool.
